Obituary for Shirly Ann (Rinkliff) Palmer McCalla

Mother of OFDA Past President Terry L. Palmer, CFSP and Grandmother of Jonathan E. Palmer, Funeral Directors at Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home

Shirly Ann (Rinkliff) Palmer McCalla, 88, of Chillicothe passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon, January 16, 2018 in Traditions of Chillicothe following an extended illness.  She was born January 6, 1930 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Fredrick L. and Ann M. (Stocklin) Rinkliff.  On June 2, 1951 she married H. Clark Palmer, who preceded her in death on May 9, 1972.

Surviving are her daughters, Julie (Dan) Rayburn, Chillicothe, Christy (Dan) Manson, Columbus and Denise Roeder, Columbus; sons, Terry (Debra) Palmer, Chillicothe and Jeffrey Behm, Bronxville, NY; grandchildren, Raeanne Rayburn, Kendall (Jenni) Roll,  Whitney (Braden) Stocker,  Matthew (Leigh) Manson, Lauren (Wes Gardner) Roeder, Abigail Roeder, Andrew (T.J. Alsept) Palmer, Jonathan (Kimberly) Palmer, Allen (Regen Moriarty) Behm and Andrew (Samantha) Behm; great-grandchildren, Theodore Stocker and Cameron Palmer and a host of cousins  and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law, Donald Roeder and former husband, David McCalla.

Shirly was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church and Eastern Star Chapter 419.  She was a long-time volunteer at the Chillicothe Hospital and Adena Regional Medical Center.  She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.  She will be missed.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. James Grove officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 on Monday.
