Obituary for Helen G. Carter

Mother of Robert C. Carter, OFDA Past President and Funeral Director at John Quint Treboni Funeral Home and Robert C. Carter Funeral Services

Helen G. Carter, age 79, died suddenly on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at home with her son and daughter at her side. Born in Marietta, Ohio, on July 6, 1941, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Florence (Kalinowksi) Palmer; she married Bobby N. Carter on February 2, 1963, in the Cathedral of St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Wheeling, WV., who preceded her in death 33 days ago, on January 22, 2021.

Surviving are her children, Robert C. Carter, Richard C. Carter, Deanna (Jack, Jr.) Crase, and Tony Carter; grandsons, Tyler Carter and Trey Crase; granddaughters, Alexa, Jordan and Amanda Crase; brother, Dr. Charles B. Palmer; several cousins, nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Guy (Bev) Petty; sisters-in-law, Betty Bessinger and Mary Petty. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; and great-grandson, Wyatt Michael Crase.

Helen was a devout Catholic. Helen graduated from St. Joseph Academy for Girls and the Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing (Wheeling, WV). She worked as a Registered Nurse until retirement from Crestline Memorial Hospital in 1998. She volunteered with Red Cross Blood Mobile, Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels; she arranged transportation for cancer patients for their chemo treatments; was a member of and donated to many Bucyrus area organizations; she also mentored in both Colonel Crawford and Bucyrus City Schools. She was also a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 27, 2021, at 12 Noon, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 760 Tiffin Street (Bucyrus, OH 44820), where her family will receive visitors one hour prior. Rev. Fr. Paul Fahrbach, Presider. Burial, Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus, Ohio. Please, in lieu of flowers, direct your donations in her name to Holy Trinity Parish.
