Obituary for Craig F. Hoffman

Retired Funeral Director and Previous Co-Owner of Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Inc.

Craig F. Hoffman “Digger” died Friday, March 11, 2022 at Kingsbury Place in Defiance, Ohio. He was born February 27, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio, to Nelson and Virginia “Ginny” (Marzec) Hoffman.

He attended Defiance College, Bowling State University, and graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Craig was a partner in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, INC as a funeral director and embalmer. He began his career in 1969 and retired in 2006.

Craig was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Omega Lodge #564, 32nd Degree Freemasonry Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, a past district president of OFDA, a past trustee of First Federal and Loan of Defiance, a life member of Elks Lodge #147, a life member VFW #3360, a past trustee of Defiance Area Foundation, a former member of Rotary, and was a coach for Ayersville Little League. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and being at Marble Lake.

Craig is survived by Linda (Steele) Hoffman, his children Stacy Nadler and Brad (Nikki) Hoffman, grandchildren Riley Nadler, Jordyn Hoffman, Craig Hoffman, and Kazmera Nadler, and his brothers-and-sisters-in-law Bob and Bobbie Miller of Sherwood, Ohio, Bob and Sandra Eitniear of Paulding, Ohio. He was proceeded in death by both of his parents.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 14, 2022 from 10-12 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service followed at 12:00 with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial took place at Riverside Cemetery.
