Dave Morrison, DMD and Greg Ness, DDS, FACS Honored with AAOMS Advocacy Challenge Coin

AAOMS designed its own Challenge Coin to recognize oral and maxillofacial surgeons who have made significant advocacy contributions on behalf of the Association. The distribution of these Challenge Coins will not only acknowledge these AAOMS members for their extraordinary service but perhaps also provide an inspiration to others to promote the specialty through advocacy.

Drs. Morrison and Ness were specifically nominated by the Ohio Society of OMS in recognition of their efforts to protect the specialty’s ability to deliver anesthesia during the revision of the state’s regulations.

The AAOMS Challenge Coin is awarded to those elite few who transcend the efforts of their colleagues to further the specialty through advocacy. Recipients receiving this honor designate significant portions of their time and effort to ensure our specialty thrives by personally advocating at the local, state and federal levels for our profession and patients. Such tasks include testifying before legislative bodies on our practice model and traveling the country to defend our anesthesia model. A full explanation of history of challenge coins and current recipients are available at AAOMS.org/Challenge.

Congratulations!

If you know of an OSOMS member deserving of an AAOMS Advocacy Challenge Coin, please nominate them today!  Nominations only require a brief paragraph as to the nominee’s advocacy contributions.
