Profession Sponsors Free Buprenorphine Waiver Training

(September 22, 2016) The Ohio Osteopathic Association, Ohio State Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (Ohio ACOFP), Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM), Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association, and American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry are sponsoring Ohio Buprenorphine Waiver Training, a free CME session.

It is “half and half training,” which means the first half is taken online and the second half is completed in person on Saturday, October 15 (8:00 am - 1:00 pm). The live presentation will be in Athens and simulcast to OU-HCOM campuses in Dublin and Cleveland. The morning includes a continental breakfast with OOA update one hour before the waiver training.

Upon registration, participants will receive emailed information about the first half online training--which must be completed before the live course on October 15.

To obtain the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine, providers are required to take eight hours of training.

Approval for four hours of AOA Category 1A credit is pending.
