“Representative Johnson is a remarkable individual who not only gives 100 percent of himself to his constituents in the 89th House District, but also served our nation with distinction and dignity,” said Speaker Batchelder. “He is truly deserving of this honor and I could not be prouder to have him as my colleague and friend in the House.”
The Legion of Merit is awarded to any member of the United States Armed Forces or a friendly foreign nation who has distinguished himself or herself by exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements. It is the sixth in the order of precedence of U.S. military decorations, and was established by an act of the U.S. Congress in 1943.
