Position Description:

The function of the Manager is to develop, implement and monitor the Learning Center Curriculum, facility and community-based services for individuals with developmental disabilities. This responsibility includes the regular review and revision of curriculum content to ensure diverse and relevant opportunities for individuals supported within an education-based model. In addition, the Manager is responsible for the marketing, development, maintenance and supervision of EmployAbility business opportunities. The Manager is responsible for oversight of daily operations, hiring, training and supervision of direct service instructors, crew leaders and members, and contracted staff.

Duties:

  • Establish a variety of educational and employment opportunities that are relevant to each individual's abilities and interests.
  • Market the Learning Center and EmployAbility to local referral sources, family members and individuals served.
  • Organize and train instructors, direct support staff and work crew supervisors.
  • Ensure active and ongoing communication and collaboration with individuals, family members, guardians, SSA's, professionals, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary team member of individuals assigned, ensuring that the ISP's address individual's interests. Ensure that staff are familiar with the requirements in the ISP's.
  • Ensure that company and regulatory safety protocols are followed to ensure health, safety and welfare of individuals supported and employees.
  • Ensure that vehicles are maintained according to vehicle safety guidelines and requirements. Ensure that drivers are trained and monitored on the vehicle and safe driving protocols.
  • Develop a compliance and quality review process to ensure continual improvement in all aspects of the program.
  • Adhere to the agency recruitment and hiring process to ensure that the required number of staff are assigned to the program and work crews according to the ISP's and program budget.
  • Ensure that required training is provided to each staff member according to DODD regulations and agency procedures, including required updates.
  • Ensure proper oversight and supervision to all employees.
  • Evaluate and monitor the work performance of assigned staff.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to develop start up and equipment budgets to ensure proper supplies and materials.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to develop the annual operating budget to ensure adequate revenue, and to ensure that personnel and expenses are in line with the needs of the individuals, and the business model.
  • Maintain proper records for agency expenses, supplies and equipment, including inventories and receipts.
  • Ensure that the ISP's, billing and timekeeping requirements are managed according to the regulatory requirements and submitted in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure that employee records and evaluations are maintained according to the agency requirements and best practices.

Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of experience in direct service provision and supervision of services.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop opportunities for participation in learning through community-based instruction and business management.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership/management position(s).
  • Skill in organization and management of multiple priorities.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a supervisory level position.
  • Experience with Day and Employment Services regulations with DODD is a plus.
  • Good driving record with fewer than 6 points with reliable transportation, auto registration and auto insurance.
  • BCI clearance and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated, energetic and organized.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies.


Travel Involved:

Local travel for Portage, Stark and Summit Counties.

Compensation:

Base salary plus commission on gross revenue from acquired contracts.
