Please join us for ORWAC's Virtual Business Meeting

With WSCA's conference cancelled this year, the executive board felt we had urgent and important business pertaining to our organization's commitment to diversity, equity and belonging worthy of holding a virtual business meeting. This business includes:

• Discussing and voting on motions pertaining to the special committee report on diversity, equity and belonging, including:
  • creating a self-study to determine the future of the organization and journal's name
  • constructing mechanisms to ensure a more diverse body of members serve on selection committees and in leadership roles
  • incentivising membership for particular groups of people, particularly women and non-binary Black, Indigenous and People of Color
  • redesigning the website
• Electing a new graduate student representative (invite potential candidates to the meeting)

Following the meeting, our graduate student representatives will be hosting a break-out room mentoring social.

 

Look for the ORWAC newsletter to be delivered in the coming weeks that will include news about our organization.

 

We hope you can join us February 13th at 12pm PST to contribute your voice and service towards these important initiatives. Please spread the word to potential and current members, and renew your dues if you haven't already.
