Ford, DeWine Announce $1.5 Billion Investment to Make New EVs in Ohio

The investment would expand the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant in Lorain County

Representatives from the Ford Motor Company joined Governor Mike DeWine and other state leaders Thursday to announce a $1.5 billion investment into an assembly plant in northeast Ohio.

The investment would expand the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant in Lorain County so it can build unidentified new electric commercial vehicles, with 1,800 new jobs. Ninety more jobs will be added in Lima and Sharonville.

"The ingenuity and talent of Ohio’s automotive workforce are second to none, and Ford's investment in Avon Lake will play an essential role in growing the EV space," said DeWine. "Ford has been a partner in Ohio for generations, and its confidence in the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant operations secures EV operations in Lorain County that will be critical for decades to come."
