Executive Director - Forging Foundation

Forging Industry Association

The Forging Industry Association (FIA) is a trade association based in downtown Cleveland that provides its members with industry benchmarking, global networking, world-class training and education, and public policy advocacy. For over 105 years, FIA has been the primary source of information for the North American forging industry. The Forging Industry Educational and Research Foundation (Forging Foundation) is a supporting organization to FIA that provides a framework for forging industry collaborative research, awards undergraduate scholarships, funds technology development, and transfers technology to the forging industry.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Executive Director of the Forging Foundation reports to the President & CEO of the Forging Industry Association. The Executive Director is responsible for executing the foundation’s strategic plan (2018) which includes developing the donor base and managing the programs of the foundation, including scholarship programs; university grants; membership and prospects outreach; fundraising events; supporting content development for Forging University, and responsibility for all communications (articles, newsletters, website maintenance) supporting these programs. The Executive Director works closely with the Forging Foundation board, its committees and the FIA President & CEO to ensure the success of this supporting organization of the Forging Industry Association.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred) with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within a foundation. Technical (manufacturing or engineering), foundation or degree-based experience preferred but not required.
