Executive Vice President

The Ohio Pork Council

The Ohio Pork Council seeks a dynamic, forward thinking executive vice president (chief staff person) to lead the association in partnership with the OPC Board of Directors. This 2,500-member association in Columbus, Ohio serves Ohio pork producers and works to resolve the challenges of the industry.

With a leading voice for the pork industry and its strong future, OPC seeks an EVP who has demonstrated talent in legislative advocacy, finance and budgets, board governance, overseeing operations and being an effective spokesperson. An essential skill is the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders who impact the pork industry. The EVP must be a team-player able to work with diverse people.

In close partnership with the board of directors and staff, the EVP provides strategic vision and leadership to steward the future of OPC, and cultivates relationships with key policymakers, other organizations and companies that influence the future of the pork industry. Strengths in collaboration and partnership development are essential. Experience in agriculture leadership and a passion for the advancement of agriculture are highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, political science, business or a closely related major; and five years management experience or 10 years related experience in agriculture leadership or trade association work. Advanced degree or CAE is preferred. Experience in a related field will be considered.
