County Leaders Expect 2024 Hotel Tax Revenue to Outperform 2019 Record

Things are looking up for Lucas County

Lucas County's hotel tax is on track for a record year four years after the coronavirus destroyed tourism across the country.

The $8,053,696 earned in 2019 hasn't been matched since, but the first quarter numbers indicate that 2024 could be the year Lucas County's hotel tax exceeds $8 million.

Since the pandemic, the tax has gradually gotten closer to matching the revenue raised in 2019, which was a record-breaking travel year for the county, said Lance Woodworth, president and chief executive officer of Destination Toledo and OSAP board member.
