A dangerous Hurricane Helene crashed into the Gulf Coast of Florida on Thursday evening.
The Category 4 storm brought record-breaking storm surges in parts of the state, as well as damaging winds, rains and flash floods hundreds of miles inland across much of the southeastern United States, forecasters said.
States of emergency were declared in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia and Alabama.
