Way back in 2019, which was a different world, Car & Driver gathered a list of automotive commandments to help make all of us better drivers. The magazine came up with 40 rules of automotive etiquette its staff felt needed to be followed.
You can test yourself against its Golden 40 here. Car & Driver still thinks they offer good guidelines. But, while its original list has not changed—you still shouldn't drive drunk, you still need to respect police and fire sirens—the rise of new technology means there are new bad habits on the road.
