Chief Executive Officer

The Ohio Association of County Boards Serving People with Developmental Disabilities (OACB) is seeking a chief executive officer (CEO) to lead its organization. The CEO will be charged with advancing the association’s mission and vision to enhance the lives of people with developmental disabilities.
Key responsibilities of this position include partnering with internal and external stakeholders to establish priorities, strategy and implementation of OACB’s advocacy agenda. The appropriate candidate must be able to represent and advocate programs and policies of the OACB to federal and state legislators, federal and state administrative agencies, the Ohio governor’s office, local administrative agencies such as councils of governments (COGs), local boards of developmental disabilities and the general public. When beneficial, this advocacy will be accomplished through thoughtful and strategic partnerships with local county board superintendents and boards of trustees.
Ideal candidates will have experience in not-for-profit association management or have held a significant leadership role in a field serving people with developmental disabilities. They should also be a strong administrator and manager of people with a proven ability to attract, develop and motivate a high- performing team to achieve organization goals. Experience working with a board of directors is strongly preferred.
Candidates should also display strong written and oral communication skills; be comfortable communicating on a one-on-one basis; comfortable communicating in front of a large and diverse audience, and with the media. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required; advanced degrees are considered a plus. This role provides an excellent salary and benefits package as well.
