Camp Considerations
Summer camps usually give kids the opportunity to get away from the house for a little while and try a new experience on for size. But given COVID-19, is reopening even possible this summer?

That’s a challenge the American Camp Association (ACA) and the YMCA of the USA have been working on, creating a field guide for reopening and continuing to operate.

The guide lays out in-depth considerations for health screening, facilities management, food service, cleaning, transportation, putting on activities, and keeping campers (and counselors) safe. Importantly, the guides emphasize that camps should only open in areas where “Phase 2” and “Phase 3” reopening considerations, as laid out by the Trump administration, have been met.
