Ohio Will No Longer Require Front License Plates Beginning July 1

Ohio is among 20 other states in not requiring dual plates

On July 1, Ohio will say goodbye to the front license plate on most vehicles. 

Back in April, lawmakers passed House Bill 62 requiring only one license plate to be displayed on motor vehicles including passenger vehicles. 

The license plate must still be displayed on the rear of the vehicle.  However, commercial tractors must display the license plate on the front of the vehicle.
