COVID-19 Update: Business Events Can Be Held if Attendance Remains Under 300

Specific social distancing guidelines must still be maintained

According to a recent update from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), there is good news for organizations interested in hosting in-person meetings for their members. 

If the meeting is part of your normal business operations, you may proceed in holding it. However, there can be no more than 300 people in attendance at the event. Protocols also include six feet between tables and no congregating. However, it must be noted: no more than 300 people can be gathering at the same venue. What does this mean? This means your organization and any other entities utilizing a venue's space cannot have attendee numbers exceeding 300 people. 

The governor's office has confirmed, at this time, that "meeting space" encompasses hotels, banquet halls/rooms and catering facilities.  

Additionally, organizations must follow the general office social distancing guidelines, especially maintaining 6 ft. social distancing, when hosting any event. If a meal will be provided, you must also follow the restaurant guidelines, which you can download here.
