Ohio Senate Approves Spending $4 Billion in COVID-19 Relief

It would award almost $2.3 billion for K-12 schools

The Ohio Senate has approved spending $4 billion in federal coronavirus relief money, over half of which would go to K-12 schools.

House Bill 169 would award almost $2.3 billion for K-12 schools, along with another $150.1 million for private schools.

It also would give $639 million to child-care centers, $250 million for first police and other first responders in a proposal announced by Governor Mike DeWine earlier this week and $300 million for nursing homes, which the House proposed as a standalone measure last month.
