ASAE Statement on Passing of J. Clarke Price, FASAE, CAE

He passed earlier this week

The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) issued the following statement today on the passing of J. Clarke Price, FASAE, CAE, retired president and CEO of the Ohio Society of CPAs and 2008-2009 Chair of the ASAE Board of Directors. Clarke was also a past president of the Ohio Society of Association Professionals (OSAP).

“We at ASAE are profoundly saddened by the passing of Clarke Price, FASAE, CAE, a giant in the association management profession who left an indelible mark on our community. Our hearts and condolences go out to Clarke’s family at this difficult time,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “Clarke was an inspiration to countless association professionals and generously devoted his time, wisdom and expertise to mentoring future leaders and ensuring the success of our profession. His 40-year career with the Ohio Society of CPAs and work on behalf of the CPA profession was recognized with the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA) Distinguished Service Award – the highest recognition bestowed upon a non-CPA."

“Clarke’s volunteer experience with ASAE included stints on the ASAE Board of Directors, including serving as chair in 2008-2009; chairing APAC, ASAE’s political action committee; and chairing ASAE’s Education Committee. In 1998, Clarke was selected as an ASAE Fellow," Mason added. "We will miss Clarke but are deeply grateful for his friendship, his leadership and service to the association community.”
