State Issues Order for Weekly Ventilator Equipment Inventory Reporting
On March 31, 2020, Ohio Department of Health Director, Amy Acton, MD, issued an order, requiring all entities with ventilators to report their inventory by no later than 5:00 p.m. each Wednesday beginning April 1, 2020 until further notice.
The order defines ventilator as a machine, equipment or device designed to move breathable air into and out of the lungs, to deliver breathing assistance to a patient who is physically unable to breathe, or has difficulty breathing. This includes machines such as:
- Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)
- Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure (BPAP)
- Anesthetic Machine
- Medical Ventilator
- Bag Valve Mask
- Nasal Cannula
- Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA)
- Endotracheal Tube
- Tracheostomy Tubes, Trach Tubes, or Tracheal Tubes
