OSMA Joins National Coalition to Develop Characteristics of a Rational Medicare Physician Payment System

The OSMA has joined more than 120 other medical organizations endorsing a set of principles providing a framework for Medicare payment reform.

This is an early step in AMA's and organized medicine’s efforts to develop consensus on policy recommendations that will reshape the payment system to work better for patients and physicians, and hopefully put an end to the annual advocacy exercise of stopping impending payment cuts.

Agreeing to the principles outlined in the Characteristics of a Rational Medicare Physician Payment System will now lead to developing more concrete policy proposals. More will be shared on these initiatives later this year.
