The last Legislative Update highlighted two bills (a) HB 15 for Telemedicine, and (b) HB 1293 Conversion Therapy Ban. The President, President-Elect, and Past-President met with legislators on September 25th to address these and other bills impacting counselors in the state. Here are suggested follow-up strategies for PCA members:

  1. HB 15 and HB 872 both address Telemedicine in the state and are in the House Insurance Committee. PCA members are encouraged to reach out to those on this committee to encourage movement on these bills. Additionally, adding support for tele-supervision will help further the pending legislation to meet the needs of counselors in our state. Members can write letters to Chair Pickett and copy Chair DeLuca:

  1. HB 1293 is a ban on conversion therapy and is in the House Health Committee. There is concern that it will not see any movement in the near future. Members are encouraged to reach out to share their support for the bill with the chairs of the committee.
