Hello all!

I wanted to extend this invitation to anyone in the Greater Philadelphia area or anyone willing to make the trek. This Feb. 22, 2025, at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, from 8:30a-4p, we will have five sessions with five continuing education credits available. The topic for this symposium is "Trauma-Informed Care Across Theoretical Perspectives and Populations." I've attached the schedule and the flyer giving information about times, locations, and costs.

Happy New Year! I am thrilled to announce the details of the 2025 PASERVIC Webinar. This year we will be joined by PASERVIC Past-President, Lewis Johnson, LPC, NCC, CCTP, CET II (he/him), Diane Walsh, PhD, LGPC, NCC (she/her), and Stephanie Durnford, PhD, LCPC (MD), NCC for Both Are Sacred to Me: Ethical Considerations for Trauma-Informed, Culturally Responsive Counseling with LGBTQ+ Catholics.

 The webinar will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9:30am – 12:30pm (EST) and will include 3 Ethics CEUs. You will find the flyer attached to this email for more details.

The Journal of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association is now accepting article submissions for the Spring 2025 edition. If interested, please see the Guidelines for Authors at http://www.pacounseling.org/aws/PACA/asset_manager/get_file/910393?ver=0. If you have any questions regarding article submission, please reach out th editor, Dr. Holly Branthoover at pcajournal@gmail.com

The Journal of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association is now accepting applications to become a journal reviewer. If interested, you must be a member of the Pennsylvania Counseling Association and have a minimum of a master's degree in counseling or a counseling related field. Please submit your resume or CV and a list of areas of competency/interest for reviewing to Dr. Holly Branthoover at pcajournal@gmail.com. Reviewers with specialties in research methodologies are a current need. 

From Government Affairs: 

The PCA Government Relations Committee is working to increase our
visibility and amplify our voices with legislators across Pennsylvania
and we need your help! 

Specifically, we are seeking legislators’ support for:

1. The Counseling Compact
2. Inclusion of counseling students in the SWEET Act. The SWEET Act offers stipend-based funding of $5000 per semester per student for approved master’s in social work internships but does not yet include funding for counseling students.
