The SAVIR conference plays a vital role in the dissemination of injury and violence prevention and safety promotion through cutting edge methods, research, practice, and policy. Submit a proposal for the 2021 SAVIR virtual conference.

The theme of the SAVIR 2021 conference is:

Injury and Violence Prevention in a Changing World:
From Local to Global

Call for Abstracts which will be accepted in one of two categories:

  1. Oral presentations
  2. Posters with a flash science mini-presentation

Authors are invited to submit abstracts for consideration focused on research and research-based practice encompassing all aspects of injury and violence prevention. The theme for the 2021 conference is “Injury and Violence Prevention for a Changing World: From Local to Global”. During this meeting we will highlight the creative ways that scientists are advancing injury and violence research in an ever-changing world.  We recognize the rapidly changing world we live in and want to highlight the role of injury and violence research and practice during a global pandemic and international calls for racial justice.  This is also the first time the SAVIR conference is being co-hosted by a center focusing on international injury.  We encourage submissions that engage injury and violence issues within and across national borders.  By going virtual, we expect to be able to engage researchers from around the world more than ever before!

SAVIR is continuing and expanding its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.  We strongly encourage all authors to read our Statement on Equity before preparing their submission.

SAVIR welcomes proposals both across varied injury and violence topics and across multiple approaches including sessions on interventions, practice, policy, methods related to different injury and violence mechanisms, analytical strategies, advocacy, and theory.

SAVIR conferences have provided a unique forum for participants to learn, exchange, and build upon the disseminated ideas to improve health and safety. While the virtual format of this year’s conference will be different, we still expect rich opportunities for participants at every stage of their career development to engage with colleagues, mentors, students, and friends. The goal of scientific sessions is to create an interface between researchers, methodologists, and practitioners to exchange new ideas, studies, and ways to promote equity in health through injury and violence research.

Be a part of the exchange by submitting a proposal.
