Director of Music Ministries
Ascension Lutheran Church, Montgomery, Ohio
Ascension Lutheran Church in Montgomery, Ohio is actively looking to fill the position of Director of Music Ministries. This vital position is responsible for the entire music program of the parish.
Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
ï‚· Plan and coordinate the music program and participate in the planning of worship and other activities in the liturgical year
ï‚· Recruit guest musicians for appropriate services.
ï‚· Direct the Chancel Choir and possibly Bell Choir.
ï‚· Participate with the church staff, Pastor, and other leaders in facilitating congregational goal of a dynamic music program that supports the mission of the church.
Skills and Qualifications:
ï‚· Hold a bachelor’s degree in music, church music, music education or other related degree.
ï‚· Demonstrate competent keyboard skills, and a working knowledge of other instruments.
ï‚· Have experience directing choirs and have the ability to work well with volunteer musicians and participate collegially with staff members, Pastor, and congregational leaders.
ï‚· Knowledge and experience with the Lutheran liturgy preferred.
Compensation: This part-time position offers a competitive salary and benefits. In addition, the facilities at Ascension are available to the Director of Music Ministries for private lessons and agreed upon music events.
