Director of Congregational Relations-LSS of Central Ohio
Lutheran Social Services (LSS), one of Central Ohio's largest non-profit agency, is seeking a dynamic, social ministry-oriented individual to lead our Congregational Relations function. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with pastors, staff and congregants in member congregations as well as community congregations in our service areas. This position will educate congregations on the programs and services of LSS and how they can partner with each other in our shared ministry; and acts as congregation liaison to answer questions and facilitate resolution to issues between LSS service lines and congregations. In addition, this position will partner with service line leaders to define, identify, and communicate volunteer opportunities within the organization to congregations.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business, theology, philanthropic development or related field and 3 to 5 years relevant experience. Clergy experience is helpful. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess demonstrated relationship building and influencing skills ideally with diverse community or ecumenical groups, must have strong communication skills with the ability to respond professionally and sensitively on ambiguous topics; and be an engaging public speaker, creative and collaborative to meet the needs of our communities; must have solid critical thinking, time management, and organizational skills.
