Reading the Gospels-Taught by The Rev. Dr. Wray Bryant, Ph.D. Assistant Professor, Religion and Philosophy at Capital, in Greek and Biblical Theology at Trinity Seminary & From Survivin’ to Thrivin-Taught by Pastor Katie Kerrigan who serves as Assistant to the Bishop and ELCA Director for Evangelical Mission, focusing on helping congregations find new purpose and vitality in these changing times.

Facebook news feed changes to impact nonprofits ability to connect with followers

In the coming months, Facebook will be granting less priority to Pages from businesses and publications and begin favoring posts its ranking algorithm finds to be more engaging — namely those that spark debate and discussion among a user's friends and family.

Submit resolutions to be considered by the SOS Assembly by March 15

Resolutions should be submitted by midnight on March 15 for review by the Reference and Counsel Committee.

The following information is provided by our synod accountant, Mrs. Joy Hacker regarding year end closing of synod records, auditor information and a reminder about the remittance forms.

Current and interested Mission Interpreters invited to attend gathering and training session on Feb 17

Led by the ELCA's Mission Interpreter Ministry Coordinator, Denise Ballou. Open to all Mission Interpreters or those interested in becoming a Mission Interpreter in their congregation. 

'Fishing for People--Evangelism for all the Baptized' workshop, Feb 3 led by Pr. Katie Kerrigan

'Fishing for People' is designed for all baptized members of our congregations, not just the ordained or specially trained. You’ll receive real-world, hands-on training and tips you can take back to your congregation to share, plus meet others from our mission territory who also want to share the Good News in their communities. You’ll walk out of this workshop excited and prepared to ‘fish for people’ and will have made a few new friends in the process.

One-day Stewardship Academies coming to a location near you in 2018!

Sponsored by the Southern Ohio Stewardship Team, the Stewardship Academy is an opportunity for congregational leaders (rostered and lay) to "retool" their congregation's stewardship ministry.

House of Worship Security Program Training in Dayton/Cincinnati Area in February

The presentation will cover topics to educate members, staff, leadership, and clergy on how to protect people and property; preventing accidents, injury, and neglect, safeguarding against loss from crime and theft of funds, protecting members and staff from abuse, liability, false claims, and lawsuits.
