Sponsored by the Southern Ohio Stewardship Team, the Stewardship Academy is an opportunity for congregational leaders (rostered and lay) to "retool" their congregation's stewardship ministry.

For the sixth year, the Reconciling in Christ ministries in Central Ohio (First English, Gethsemane, Trinity, Lord of Life, Redeemer & Trinity Seminary) will be gathering as an ELCA witness at the 2018 Gay Pride Parade in Columbus on Saturday, June 16, with the step-off in the Short North at 10:30 AM.

'Blast Off for Books' collection at SOS Assembly--Don't miss out on this great way to serve the youth of Houston!

The books you donate will be distributed at community book fairs, camps and other events around the city as part of the Gathering's Service Learning experience. By putting books in the hands of Houston's economically disadvantaged students, you can help change lives.

ELCA Church Council meets under Future Directions 2025

In her report, ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth A. Eaton emphasized that the work of the churchwide organization, including that of the council, is guided by 'ways to live into and implement the five goals that we set as a church together in Future Directions 2025.'

ELCA Disability Ministries update

ELCA Disability Ministries is approaching a decisive crossroad. Several transitions have occurred in the past year, some of which include personal health, missional dollars and questions about our direction.

ELCA presiding bishop issues Earth Day statement

Made in the image of God, we are called to continue what God is already doing for the earth (Psalm 104), enabling it to flourish. God assigns humans to care for the earth as God does, in loving servanthood. (Philippians 2:7, Genesis 2:15).

Following the April 13 air strikes conducted by the armed forces of the United States, the United Kingdom and France, the president and the general secretary of the Lutheran World Federation issued a statement that I encourage ELCA members to read and prayerfully consider.

Nelson W. Trout Lectures April 26-27

The Rev. Eboni Marshall Turman, Ph.D., assistant professor of theology and African American religion at Yale University Divinity School, will be the featured speaker for the annual Nelson W. Trout Lectures on April 26 and 27. 2018.
