Registration open for 2019 Professional Leaders Retreat at Sawmill Creek Resort!

Dear Ministry Colleagues in the Southern Ohio, Northeastern and Northwestern Ohio Synods,

You are invited to the 2019 Professional Leaders Retreat, January 22-24, 2019, at The Lodge at Sawmill Creek Resort (same great site as previous years.) For the fourth consecutive year, rostered ministers and church professionals from all three Ohio synods are coming together for a couple days of rest, relaxation and refreshment! The theme is “Spirituality,” featuring keynote speaker, The Rev. Dr. Winston Persaud, Professor of Systematic Theology, Wartburg Seminary, and special presenter, The Rev. Dr. Javier (Jay) Alanis, Executive Director, Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest. Both speakers will offer their unique insights into the Holy Spirit’s work in creating enriching unity within diversity.

Sign-in takes place from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22. Programming begins at 2:00 p.m. with a Gathering Eucharist followed by programming, worship, fellowship, and rest opportunities, that continue through Thursday, January 24 at 12:00 p.m. Please CLICK HERE to see the schedule for specific events and times. The retreat format leaves plenty of downtime for rest, as well as fellowship. Past attendees have found this event to be an excellent opportunity to meet new friends and reconnect with old classmates and colleagues.

The November 15 early bird registration discount and November 30 final registration deadlines will be maintained without exceptions due to venue contract considerations.  Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. People who come only for the day must register as well. No exceptions. Children may stay in the lodge for free and if they are under 5, their meals are free as well; children ages 6-11 yrs. are $100.00.  Childcare will be available if registered by November 15.  Spouses are especially encouraged to come.

The intent of this gathering is “to retreat” and do what is enriching for you. Feel free to pick and choose what works for you on the schedule! If you are an “outdoors person,” bring boots or cross-country skis and a warm coat to take a walk in the snow.  Sawmill Creek Resort is especially scenic in the winter!
