A note from Bishop Dillahunt: Blessed Reformation Day & news about the synod office

Blessed Reformation Day!

If you have been by the Synod Office recently, you may have noticed a “For Sale” sign out front. The building was recently listed in consultation with Synod Council and the Executive Committee. We have carefully spent the last two years looking at how our building fits our Synod Vision and determined that the office is inhibiting our effectiveness. We want to be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us.

Here are some reasons for this decision:

  • the inability to lease the second floor due to the lack of accessibility for people with mobility challenges,
  • two major floods in two years,
  • the high cost of maintenance due to an aging building,
  • the building being inaccessible for a minimum of two weeks during the summer due to street closures for festivals.

We will keep you all informed. No decisions have yet been made about a new location. All decisions will be made through Synod Council and the Executive Committee per our constitution.

Please keep the decision-makers in your prayers as we seek the Spirit's guidance for this next chapter. We are excited about this opportunity to draw together more closely our living space with our mission to be Stronger and Better Together: Joining Jesus in the Restoration of the World.

In Christ,

Bishop Suzanne Darcy Dillahunt
