Next Thrive! Congregation Leader Training is November 17th – Pre-Registration Requested!
50 Leaders Trained at First Events!
Pre-Registration is requested for the upcoming November 17th Congregation Leader Training Events in Zanesville and Lancaster. Register your Leaders now so they may join the 50 enthusiastic Congregation Leaders who received training at last weekend’s training events. Leaders will learn how to run the Thrive! Campaign for your congregation, which will also equip them to lead future special gift appeals for your church.

5:00-6:30 First English, 220 North Columbus Street, Lancaster
Congregation Leaders need to be registered in advance because, in addition to receiving training, they will also receive brochures, bulletin inserts, and other printed Thrive! materials for their churches, and we wish to have sufficient material pre-packaged for each congregation.
Stewardship Team members, pastors and deacons are welcomed and encouraged to attend, also, but please let us know they are coming so we may prepare for them, as well.
Register your Leaders online by using this online Fillable Congregation Leader Registration Form, or download and complete a Congregation Leader Appointment Form, email it to Thrive@SouthernOhioSynod.org, or mail a copy to the Synod office.

Big Turnout for First Round of Leader Training Events!
Leaders from 29 churches in and around the Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus areas took part in training during the first round of Thrive! Leader Training Events held November 2nd! They join the growing number of congregations seeing the benefits of the Thrive! mission campaign.

What Others are Saying about Thrive!
Since I was first introduced to Thrive! earlier this year, my ministry setting has changed, but my belief that Thrive! is important for our Synod has not. I initially considered Thrive! from the perspective of a half-time pastor of a small congregation. I wondered “how would little St. Peter be able to offer anything to Thrive! when we can barely pay our own bills?” I learned that Thrive! has something for everyone—those congregations that aren’t able to support Thrive! financially would especially realize the benefits of a wider variety of well-equipped leaders in our church.
Then I was called to a larger congregation with a variety of resources. Would Trinity be expected to raise money for Thrive! to support those smaller, struggling congregations? I learned that Thrive! would also be supporting congregations like Trinity with training to strengthen our lay leadership, and of course ALL congregations will benefit from stronger, well-prepared rostered ministers and Synod Authorized Ministers.
Over the years, I’ve seen a number of “programs” come and go from the Synod but Thrive! seems different. It is based in careful research and discernment. It points to the future. And it invests in our most important resource—people. That’s why my husband, Jonathan, and I have already made our contribution to Thrive!
