Larry has served in three congregations of the Southern Ohio Synod — from small to large, single pastor to multi-staff, and in small town, city and suburban locations. He has led stewardship campaigns for numerous congregations around the synod, helping people grow in their personal stewardship and their understanding of how giving is an essential part of our relationship with our giving God.

So, it is also an opportunity to learn more about the Thrive Campaign and then make an informed decision about whether or not to run a campaign at your congregation.

The Campaign Manual, along with the knowledge you will gain on how to conduct special appeals campaign for your congregation’s own needs, remain yours to keep. So, do not hesitate to contact Larry about the training. Reach him at Thrive@SouthernOhioSynod.org.

Trinity, Brookville, Completes Successful Campaign

Trinity Lutheran in Brookville now joins four other congregations (St. Jacob’s, Anna; St. Luke’s, Marietta; Emmanuel, Germantown; and Lutheran Church of the Resurrection Cincinnati) that have completed very successful Thrive! campaigns.

Trinity, a congregation averaging about 65 people per Sunday, reports that its faithful community of believers has committed at least $12,000 to the Thrive Campaign. Final results will be forthcoming as they complete their follow up but, clearly, Trinity members are excited about, and supportive of, the initiatives that the Thrive Campaign is bringing to the mission of our Synod and its congregations.

Many, many thanks to the members and leaders of each of these five congregations, who are demonstrating an attitude of abundance that comes from understanding the abundant, extravagant, lavish love of God.

Campaign Update: Synod-wide commitments to Thrive made to-date (including non-binding goals, individual and other gifts, and designated gifts from other sources) now total over $540,000.

Moving Forward on Goals

“The Thrive! Worship Team has been formed!” reports Joshua Brodbeck, our Synod Administrator & Worship Director.

“We are looking forward,” continued Joshua, “to getting to work and figuring out the best way to help congregations enliven their worship. One way this has already been happening is through Pr. Joe Wolf’s liturgical videos that can be used for Worship or other church events. Those videos can be found on the Synod’s website and also on his personal video channel.”

Additionally, we are excited to announce that ten congregations will be part of the next cohort of churches taking part in Stewardship for All Seasons (SAS) – a 2-year training program that helps congregations develop their mission and ministries.

Be on the lookout for more information coming soon as we move forward on these and other goals of the Thrive Campaign, all propelled by your generosity.
