Generous giving and stewardship education continues in SOS: Thrive eBlast for 4.21.20

More Support Received-Thank you!

In-person worship services cancelled; jobs transformed, if not lost; children being schooled at home, life in turmoil. Yet, the Church’s mission goes on and we continue to see signs of grace, love and incredible generosity. The following letter is one more example:

Dear Bishop Dillahunt:

Every year, as you know, our Mission Endowment Committee sends a tithe of our Mission Endowment grant income to the synod. Even with the current disruptions, this year is no exception. The gift this year is $1,063, and it is designated for THRIVE, as our campaign has been indefinitely postponed here. The money was included in our March remittance to the synod, sent today.

Our prayers continue for you and for the continued ministries of the synod.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Mark Wildermuth
Faith Lutheran, Mount Vernon

We extend our deepest thanks to all the people of Faith Lutheran for their generosity made all the more remarkable because of what our country is facing. The gift will help the Thrive! Campaign’s efforts to build up congregations and their leaders to get through this crisis and grow into a new future.

Online Workshop This Thursday: ‘Keeping Stewardship Strong in Uncertain Times’

Mike will share tangible ideas for responding during this crisis and help you put in place the infrastructure to keep generosity flowing to your congregations. He will also point out messaging that you should avoid during this time and take questions from participants. This workshop is suggested for pastors, stewardship leaders, council members and others engaged in congregational leadership.
