Kay Wean regarding continuing health concerns

This update on Kay is not good news. After consulting extensively with OSU, the doctors at both OSU and Miami Valley Hospitals gave us a recommendation we did not want to hear, and still don't. Based on the progression of the disease and her weakened state due to the treatment and the progression, they advised that any more treatment would be quickly fatal with little to gain.

We were informed that less than 10 % of the people with leukemia have this untreatable type, "Primary Refractory Disease," where the cancer has morphed into being resistant to treatment. She has had 5 different treatments in the past year with nothing to show for her pain and suffering. Most people only go through 2. And yet, she continues to be a real warrior.

Therefore, we followed the doctors' recommendations and, last weekend, we have Hospice Home Care to help her. She is being monitored for pain and comfort, but all aggressive treatment for her leukemia has stopped.

Thanks and Grace to you all,

Pr. Ron Wean

Please continue to pray for healing, strength and comfort for Kay, Ron and their family.
