2012 Congregational Remittance Forms Sent by U.S. Mail "Attn: Congregational Treasurers/Financial Secretaries"

As shared in each conference during the 2011 Fall Road Shows, congregational treasurers and financial secretaries will be asked to use a new, more detailed form when remitting Mission Support and other  contributions to the synod and ELCA.

Detailed instructions, an example of a completed form and two customized copies of the 2012 Congregational Remittance Form are included in a hard copy mailing due to arrive the week of January 16, 2012 at all Southern Ohio Synod congregations. Please check the mail for this envelope and give to your congregation's treasurer/financial secretary promptly. The forms will need to accompany all Mission Support contributions sent to the synod starting February 1, 2012.

The new, more detailed form is based on the form the synod's accountant must use to submit contributions (Mission Support, World Hunger, Disaster Response, etc.) to the ELCA and details the many areas congregations and individuals may support financially within the ELCA.

The customized remittance forms received by each congregation have the following fields pre-populated at the top of the form to assist treasurers/financial secretaries with their work:

  • Congregation Name
  • Congregation City
  • Congregation Number
  • Mission Support Goal for 2012

Please make copies of this pre-populated form for future use.

As the synod office is still receiving responses to the Mission Support goals suggested for each congregation, the dollar amount that appears on the form is as of January 11, 2012 and is based on the responses received by the synod office by that date. If the goal your congregation has agreed to is different than what appears on the form, please cross out the incorrect amount and write in the corrected amount. Please also send your new Mission Support Goal to the Assistant to the Bishop assigned to your area via email or contact the synod office directly at 614.464.3532.
