SynodFest's Rostered Leaders Event Scheduled for June 7-8--Guest Speaker Rev. Dr. Peter Steinke
Don't miss the Rostered Leaders Event, now part of SynodFest, June 7-8, 2012.
The guest presenter and workshop leader for the Rostered Leaders Event is The Reverend Dr. Peter Steinke. The Rev. Dr. Steinke has been a church consultant for more than 20 years. Having studied Bowen Family Systems Theory under the tutelage of Edwin Friedman, he has attempted to incorporate the theory in his work. He has authored four books with an eye on Bowen Theory and developed the Bridgebuilder and Healthy Congregations programs. He is now initiating New Visions, a system-based project for leadership in congregations. Peter resides in Austin, Texas.
Participants in the Rostered Leaders Event are encouraged to purchase a copy of Peter’s book, A Door Set Open: Grounding Change in Mission and Hope. Contemplative Experience
Held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, beginning at 10 am.
Tending the Holy, Resting in Sacred Space
Treat yourself to this workshop with a focus on spiritual refreshment and healing. For those experienceing any of life’s myriad challenges--from demands of ministry to health or economic worries--or those experiencing a deep longing--a sense that there is more to this relationship with God than words can say--this may be for you. Immerse yourself in a prayerful, meditative morning with reflection on Scripture and explore deep rest in God’s boundless love. This workshop invites you into your own sacred space providing you with tools to aid this process for yourself and for your congregation. Come prepared to be refreshed in the contemplative breath of God and the music of your soul.
Leaders:
Rosie Miller O.S.F., teaches in the theology department at Xavier University and specializing in the area of spirituality. Previously she served as Pastoral Associate, commited to religious education, youth ministry and adult education. She is a certified Spiritual Director and healing touch practitioner with a private practice. She has directed numerous retreats and led pilgrimages to Italy and Eastern Europe.Rebecca Mastalerz, Diaconal Minister of the ELCA, Nurse for over 35 years including parish nurse ministry and hospice nursing/ministry, as well as Spiritual Direction training.
Canoeing
Spend some time in God’s beautiful creation and join us for a three-mile river ride starting at Morgan’s Canoe Livery in Fort Ancient, Ohio. The scenic ride is estimated to take 45-90 minutes.
Participants are asked to meet in the Crowne Plaza Hotel lobby at 9:00 am to travel to the livery.
A minimum of 10 participants are needed for this event to take place.

Golf Anyone?
Come early to play a round of golf with friends and family on Thursday morning, June 7. Cincinnati has much to offer in terms of golf courses, and all pre-registered to golf will be contacted with specific details. Greens fees will be determined depending on the number of pre-registrations.
