The Power of Generating Lasting Learning Outcomes Using Virtual Reality

Stephen Paul, Director of Visualization & Immersive Technology, AECOM

Expo A2

The quality and availability of Virtual Reality has continued to grow, the subsequent implementation of numerous training platforms provides the opportunity for solid, in-depth study of outcomes in learning with VR. With the continued growth of companies working within this space we are accumulating a solid foundation of data showing what works in the use of VR in EHS training and beyond. This presentation will examine some of the studies in the science of training in VR and look at some of the outcomes that companies large and small have discovered in their implementation of VR in the workplace. It will also go in-depth on some of the Safety Training in VR projects developed by the AECOM Visualization Studio, examining what the team has discovered. The conclusions of the presentation will culminate on seeing real ROI from interactive, immersive experiences and suggested best practices for working with and creating effective learning outcomes using Virtual Reality.
