Artist’s Statement

Most of my work is related to the people and region where I live in Southeastern Ohio, part of the Appalachian region. My work is both traditional and conceptual. Whether I am attempting documentary or conceptual work I am always working toward capturing the essence of something. I am not always successful, but when it happens it’s magic and that’s what keeps me working. www.dennissavage.comBlurbbooks.com  Facebook and Instagram.

Technically I use both digital and film cameras. I continue to use a 4x5 Wista and a 4x5 pinhole camera because I enjoy the process. I develop the film in my darkroom and then scan the negatives.
