A Successful Virtual YBAA University

YBAA U VirtualTypically the second week of July would find YBAA members convening for a full day of educational workshops in Annapolis, MD or Providence, RI.  This year, the pandemic required us to alter our plans.  COVID did not deter YBAA’s determination to offer its members the same quality program; it did however change it to a virtual format.

More than 180 YBAA members and CPYB certificants participated in four hours of education sessions offered over two-days, July 14-15.  The feedback from attendees was extremely positive on both the program and the format.  The program included presentations on effective marketing, lithium batteries, identifying fraudulent transactions, and an overview of the updated YBAA forms now available for member use. Each day was capped off with updates on the Sport of Sailing, America’s Cup and the Olympics by Gary Jobson whose reputation speaks for itself.

Virtual will never replace the value of in-person workshops, but the format enabled easy access to some valuable content.  YBAA is looking forward to seeing everyone in 2021 when we will all celebrate YBAA’s 100th anniversary in person.

A recording of each day’s session is available on the YBAA and CPYB websites.  For more information on other education programs offered by YBAA, click here
