Luncheon Program
Ohio Tourism Works
Grand Oaks Event Center
From an association perspective, consider that the meetings industry contributes more to the nation's GDP ($106 billion annually) than the mighty auto industry ($78 billion), the socially powerful movie business ($60 billion)...even the air transport industry ($62 billion)! In Ohio, tourism (which includes association meetings and conventions) is a $40 billion industry that sustains 443,000 Ohio jobs and annually generates over $2.6 billion in state and local tax revenue.
What’s the latest on funding Ohio’s Travel and Tourism Division?
Our Speakers from The Ohio Tourism Roundtable, representing Ohio Tourism Works:
- Matthew L. MacLaren, Esq., Executive Director of the Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association
- Melinda Huntley, Interim Executive Director of the Ohio Travel Association and Ohio Sea Grant OSU Extension Tourism Program Director
The Ohio Tourism Roundtable is comprised of leadership representing the Ohio Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus, the Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association, the Ohio Restaurant Association and the Ohio Travel Association. The group meets quarterly to discuss issues and trends pertaining to the industry. As advocates and ambassadors for Ohio’s attractions, hotels, restaurants and destination marketing organizations, the Ohio Tourism Roundtable provides an opportunity for the various leaders to unite, speak with one voice and to strengthen their position on legislative issues affecting the industry.
Ohio Tourism Works is a collaborative effort by the Ohio Tourism Roundtable. By increasing tourism promotion Ohio can generate more jobs and tax revenue.
This event qualifies for 1 CAE hour.
