OPA 137th Annual Programming Highlights - April 17-19, 2015

One attendee at OPA's 137th Annual Conference this past April said, “OPA is my favorite meeting to go to and once again, the programming and speakers this year were absolutely outstanding!" The three-day Conference gathered more than 1100 pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy friends in Columbus. They chose from more than 50 hours of cutting-edge continuing pharmacy education (CPE) programs, visited 88 exhibits in the OPA Trade Show, learned from Ohio Research Podium presentations and 53 poster displays, and watched students compete in the Innovative Pharmacy Business Plan Competition, the OTC and Self-Care Challenge, and the Pharmacy Olympics social event. Pharmacy excellence around the state was recognized at the annual Awards Luncheon.

Attendees used the OPA conference App on their phone or tablet to schedule their CPEs and download session handouts, find their way to Breakfast Theatres conducted by Pfizer or ANX/McKesson, and more. Four trendy restaurants in Columbus' Arena District hosted dinner Friday night where attendees had the opportunity to catch-up with colleagues and friends. The PAC Breakfast attracted one of its largest gatherings ever, where attendees heard from Ohio Rep. Tim Brown. Student-specific programs featured information on careers from a panel of experts, and information on residencies from both residents and residency directors.

From specialized programming to exciting competitions to leadership recognition, the 2015 OPA Conference had it all. Another attendee commented, “Thank you.  Interesting, informative and applicable programming. Hats off to you, OPA, for a great annual meeting. I didn't want it to end.”
