2009 RSA Workshops Schedule Overview

Workshops-Friday June 26, 2009-Sunday June 28, 2009 

Friday, June 26 

Registration for Workshop Participants 10 am- 130 pm, Nittany Lion Inn Lobby/Rotunda 

12-130 pm, Institute Luncheon (optional) at the Nittany Lion Inn Boardroom (downstairs) 

Lunch will be served, and then we will have a Keynote Address by Barbara Johnstone of Carnegie Mellon University 

2-5 pm, Workshops begin 

Unless you have been notified differently by your workshop instructor, all workshops will be held in Thomas Building, Pattee Library, or the Life Sciences Building.  For the location of your specific workshop, note the room listings on the program book provided at the on-site registration.  

530-7 pm, Reception at the Nittany Lion Inn Faculty-Staff Club 

For all workshop participants and remaining seminar participants, we're having a welcome to State College, get to know your fellow rhetorical scholars reception at the Nittany Lion Inn. We'll have appetizers and finger foods; there will be a cash bar, but we'll provide you with the first drink ticket free. 

Saturday, June 27 

9-12 am, Workshops continue 

12-130 pm, Lunch on your own 

130-430 pm, Workshops continue 

630-8 pm, Picnic dinner at Nittany Lion Inn 

We were going to have a celebration dinner at Stone Valley Recreation Area, but due to a recent crack in the dam there, the lake was drained! So we're on to our backup plan, which is not bad at all. We'll have a steak/chicken/vegetarian dinner outside (weather permitting) at the Nittany Lion Inn, and then people can go off to enjoy the evening from there. There will be a cash-bar, but we'll provide you with the first drink ticket free. If it's raining, we'll just move inside.
