What a busy month at ACEC Ohio, thank you to all member firms and clients who participated in the 2017 Engineering Excellence Awards Program. We had a fantastic celebration on March 9, 2017 (see detailed article).
Please welcome Macey Abrams to ACEC Ohio as our new Administrative Assistant. Macey has been working with the Council as a part-time intern since August, and has proven herself to be a valuable productive team member. She is finishing her undergraduate degree at Ohio University and will graduate with a degree in Communication on April 29, 2017, starting full time with ACEC Ohio on May 1st. When not studying or working, Macey enjoys watching sporting events with football and the Cincinnati Bengals being at the top of her list. Macey can be reached at macey.abrams@acecohio.org
As you plan your calendars for the next few months, please consider attending:
Ohio's first-ever Civil Rights Symposium for Transportation will explore the value that diversity and inclusion brings to both the industry and the state. During this two-day event, thought leaders from business, government, and academia will lead discussions on issues related to contracting, business development, regulatory compliance, and the future of transportation.
Join your peers at the ACEC Annual Convention and Legislative Summit which occurs every spring in Washington, D.C. at the Marriott Wardman Park. Over 1400 attendees attend educational sessions, congressional appointments and the Engineering Excellence Awards Gala.
A day-long event, the ODOT/ACEC Partnering conference promotes understanding and cooperation between the public and private sectors, with the end goal of providing professional services to the public in the most effective manner. Big trends, technology and partnering awards are all a part of this year’s program. Join us after the conference for a social event at the Columbus Clippers game.
This year advocacy at both the federal and state level will highlight the annual meeting. Guest speakers include Steve Hall, VP of Government Relations at ACEC and Curt Steiner, CEO of Steiner PR and a political strategist.
As always, please feel free to contact me with questions or suggestions.
