ACEC Ohio is offering a 2-hour virtual ethics training via Zoom on Thursday, September 11 at 11:00 a.m. —a great opportunity to fulfill your biennial ethics requirement.
What to Expect:
Hour 1: John Greenhalge, Executive Director of the Ohio Engineers and Surveyors Board, will provide updates and insights from the regulatory side.
This hour will cover the Board’s Registration Act and the Code of Ethics for Engineers and Surveyors. Hour 2: Tom Pannett, Director at Kegler Brown Hill + Ritter, will explore ethical failures behind real-world engineering disasters — from the Boston Molasses Disaster to the Fukushima Daiichi incident.
The second training hour will cover ethical failures that lead to real-world engineering disasters. Tom will also cover: Ohio PE/PS Ethics Regulations; Surfside, Florida Towers and Florida IU Bridge Collapses; and Engineering Negligence.
