Waterford Bank Safeguards IT Infrastructure with Xamin’s Vulnerability Management Service

Technical expertise and seamless interoperability with core provider provides bank with stronger network support and cyber risk mitigation

CHICAGO, June 24, 2015 – To bolster the security of its IT infrastructure and more effectively mitigate cyber risk, Toledo, Ohio-based Waterford Bank selected Xamin’s Vulnerability Management Service, which proactively monitors IT environments for potential or existing risks on an ongoing basis and provides steps for remediation as needed. Xamin is a leading national managed service provider for financial institutions, healthcare facilities and other highly regulated industries. (Click to Tweet)

Waterford Bank leverages the Vulnerability Management Service to scan its entire IT network environment, detecting any potential system weaknesses and managing patches within various third-party software systems. The service then provides the bank with weekly reports about exceptions that have been discovered, paired with the necessary steps to remediate any outstanding issues. In addition to the Vulnerability Management Service, Waterford Bank also leverages Xamin’s 24/7 technical network support for its entire IT environment and strategic planning services, which the bank credits as streamlining its conversion to Fiserv’s core banking platform.

“We rely heavily on Xamin’s technical expertise and knowledge in the area of cybersecurity, and as a result, our bank rarely is presented with a long list of items to work through after an IT audit because any found threat is dealt with immediately,” said Cathy Martin, vice president of Information Technology at Waterford Bank. “The fact that Xamin is a Fiserv Preferred Partner was critical to our successful conversion and continued relationship. During the transition, we put in all-new communications systems, new servers, new hardware and new software. Xamin was vital in ensuring these new systems remain compatible and protected from potential cyberattacks.”

“Waterford Bank has experienced tremendous growth due to a strong commitment to customers and the progressive mindset of its leadership,” said Aaron Scicluna chief business development officer, Xamin. “At a time when IT security issues are confronting many organizations, Waterford Bank has set an example by preserving the integrity of its network, and we are excited at the opportunity to continue serving Waterford Bank and working to protect its business in today’s challenging business environment.”
