Wednesday Kickoff: Birmingham's Industrial Heart & Skyline Spectacle
Sponsored by
The Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys Spring Meeting in Birmingham launches on Wednesday, April 24th. It will be an immersive journey into the city's rich industrial past and breathtaking present.
Attendees will gather at the elegant Grand Bohemian Mountain Brook hotel, where a comfortable coach will whisk them away on a captivating exploration. Our first stop: Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark. This preserved ironworks, a hauntingly beautiful relic of Birmingham's steelmaking era, offers a unique glimpse into the city's formative years. We'll delve into the history of the "Magic City's" rise, tracing the footsteps of the workers who forged its foundations. Beyond the historical significance, we'll also witness the vibrant present as we observe the resident artists who now utilize this iconic space, transforming industrial relics into contemporary works.
From the depths of Birmingham's industrial roots, we'll ascend to the heights of Red Mountain, culminating in an unforgettable evening at the Vulcan Park and Museum. As the sun begins to set, casting long shadows across the city, we'll enjoy a delectable catered dinner in the shadow of Vulcan, the world's largest cast-iron statue and the city's enduring symbol. The museum's panoramic views will provide a stunning backdrop as we network and connect, surrounded by the history and grandeur of Birmingham. This opening event promises a unique blend of historical immersion, artistic appreciation, and breathtaking vistas, setting the stage for a productive and memorable conference.
