Public Health Administrative Director
Washington County Health Department
Washington County Health Department in Marietta, Ohio is seeking a Public Health Administrative Director who works with a team of public health professionals to prevent disease, promote health, and protect the environment using promising practices and evidence-based practices to address the essential public health services.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:
- Acts in advisory and administrative capacity of the Washington County Health Department, such as funding opportunities, partnerships, plans, policies
- Utilizes Performance Management tools and principles to assign and monitor progress towards organizational goals and objectives
- Represents the Washington County Health Department and Board of Health (BOH) in local, state, and federal activities, meetings, coalitions, advisory boards, acts as agency signator
- Carries out directives of the Board of Health and the Ohio Department of Health
- Coordinates reporting efforts for all levels of compliance, such as Ohio Department of Health, Ohio Auditor of State, Public Health Accreditation Board, Board of Health, District Advisory Council, and other funders and stakeholders as necessary
- Collaborates with or advises teams; such as, Strategic Planning, Peer Review, Health Promotion, Quality Improvement, Culture, and Leadership
- Advisor for Human Resources, including personnel records management, and policy implementation
- Mentors staff on program development and implementation
- Participates as a member of the leadership team
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in public health or the equivalent degree in a related health field as determined by the Board of Health preferred.
- Demonstrated work experience that would indicate knowledge and skills necessary to guide a public health agency.
- Requires excellent collaboration and team building skills for an agency with multiple sections where each has unique goals and responsibilities.
- Must be able to pass a 5 panel drug screen, background check, and qualify for a public official indemnity bond.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieves defined annual goals
- Participates in Emergency Preparedness Drills and responses to actual emergencies as required
- Completes other duties as required by the Board of Health
- Coordinates all Public Health Accreditation Board Standards and Measures documentation and reporting requirements
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Primarily on-site, in-state travel is required, paid holidays, earned sick time, earned vacation time, medical insurance available, life insurance, some flexibility in scheduling.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
