Description: Lorain County Public Health is seeking to hire a full-time Clinic Health Aide in the WIC Division with a typical workday of Monday – Friday, 8:00 to 4:30 pm with evenings and weekends as needed.
FUNCTION
This individual will perform WIC clinic support functions under the direction of the WIC Director. Primary duties include but are not limited to working client reception or intake with demographics for WIC eligibility; laboratory testing; and appointment scheduling.
JOB DUTIES
MAJOR WORK CHARACTERISTICS
Knowledge of: clinical and office equipment, computer literate in Windows environment, report compilation, and medical terminology.
Ability to: provide excellent customer service; communicate and relate to the public with positivity and patience; multitask; be detail-oriented; type quickly and correctly; think critically; be a team player; open to cross-training; function according to agency and departmental policies. Spanish speaking and translation skills are preferred but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal vehicle required. Local travel between clinics, or community sites as needed. Help distribute WIC vouchers on evenings or weekends a couple of times per year.
COMPENSATION: Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance. Ohio Public Employee’s Retirement System (PERS). Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave. Tuition reimbursement is available.
SALARY: $16.07-$20.51/hour
