Ross County Health District

The Ross County Health District has the following job openings:

Public Health Nurse – Substance Use Disorder

The Health District is seeking a full-time BSN-prepared nurse to lead a multi-disciplinary team that will address and reduce the impact of the opioid epidemic in Ross County. The position will oversee outreach efforts of Community Health Workers and identify and implement evidence-based practices surrounding prevention, assessment, and harm reduction. Nursing activities will also include data analysis, case management, health education and advocacy, coalition building, and collaborating with community partners to identify prevention strategies and pathways out of addiction.   This is a grant-funded position. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least two years of nursing experience.

Community Health Worker – Substance Use Disorder

The Health District is accepting applications for part-time and full-time community health workers that will specialize in substance use disorder. The Community Health Worker will increase access to care for individuals and families struggling with substance use disorder in order to improve their health and general well-being. This position will provide short-term care coordination, connection to resources, education, and support to at-risk individuals. This position will focus on relationship building with participants and work in both clinical and community-based settings, including client’s homes. This is a grant-funded position. Minimum qualifications for this position include a High School Diploma or GED and related experience preferred.

Community Health Specialist II – Data Integration

The Health District is seeking a full-time Community Health Specialist to act as the project coordinator of a multi-partner federal grant. The Community Health Specialist II will be responsible for convening partners, leading data collection and data sharing efforts, and overall management of the grant including planning, reporting, and budget management. This position will lead a county-wide effort to streamline data collection about substance use disorder and identifying targeted strategies to address gaps surrounding prevention, treatment, and/or recovery efforts. This position will also lead a collaborative team of law enforcement, public health, and behavioral health partners to achieve grant goals. This is a grant-funded position. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, or similar field and at least two years of relevant experience

Community Health Specialist I -  Mobility Manager

The Health District is seeking a full-time mobility manager to coordinate transportation needs in Ross County. The position will lead planning efforts for the development and implementation of Ross County’s Coordinated Transportation Plan. The Mobility Manager will provide education, coordination, and support to increase understanding and awareness of transportation needs in Ross County, increase awareness of current transportation options, ensure that transportation considerations are included in local and regional planning activities, and assisting individuals with accessing transportation options. This is a grant-funded position. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in community development, education, public administration, or related field and two years of experience in a related field.  

Community Health Specialist I – Creating Healthy Communities

The Health District is hiring a full-time Community Health Specialist to act as the project coordinator for the Creating Healthy Communities grant program. This five-year program provides health promotion and chronic disease prevention services in Ross County. The position will participate in program planning for policy, systems, and environmental strategies focused on healthy eating and active living. This position is responsible for improving access to affordable healthy foods and increasing opportunities for physical activities by implementing evidence-based strategies. The coordinator will be responsible for overall grant management. This is a grant-funded position. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, city planning, nutrition, communication, or other relevant field.
